Abstract

Academic anxiety becomes an important role for students to be able to concentrate in completing academic assignments. Academic anxiety is influenced by external factors in the form of peer support and internal factors in the form of self-efficacy. The aim of the research is to prove that there is a link between peer support and self-efficacy with student academic anxiety. Sampling used a purposive sampling technique, provided that students are active in the 2019-2022 class year and are 18-23 years old. The research sample was 151 students. The study used correlational quantitative methods with the Academic Anxiety Scale, Peer Support Scale, and Self-Efficacy Scale instruments. Data analysis using Multiple Linear Regression. The results show that the major hypothesis is proven, namely that there is a significant relationship between peer support and self-efficacy with academic anxiety. The first minor hypothesis is proven, namely that there is a significant negative relationship between peer support and academic anxiety. The second hypothesis is proven, namely that there is a significant negative relationship between self-efficacy and academic anxiety. Based on the results of the categorization of academic anxiety, the majority are classified as moderate, the majority of peer support and self-efficacy are high. Peer support contributes to academic anxiety by 0,1%, and self-efficacy contributes to academic anxiety by 8%, while the remaining 91,9% is influenced by other factors outside of research such as adjustment, study habits, and lack of guidance from parents.
