Abstract

Learning technology continues to evolve with the changing times, especially in the era of the fourth industrial revolution, which has a significant influence on various sectors, including education. Game-based learning is one form of technological advancement in the era of the fourth industrial revolution. The learning methods used in SLB Negeri Sukoharjo still follow conventional approaches that are less engaging. This can cause children to lose interest in learning, resulting in difficulties for students to grasp the given materials without guidance from teachers, particularly in the subject of introducing healthy and balanced nutrition. This motivated the author to design an educational game for introducing healthy and balanced nutrition with the aim of assisting teachers in delivering the materials in a way that students find more engaging, enthusiastic, and focused. This educational game was developed using Construct 2, and the research utilized the Game Development Life Cycle (GDLC) methodology, which involved direct observation and interviews with the teacher in charge. The game offers visually appealing elements that are suitable for intellectually disabled children. The types of games provided include material introduction with audio, food shape guessing with a drag and drop system, and food guessing. Based on the testing conducted with a black box approach, the game has performed as expected, and the results of the usability testing conducted at SLB Negeri Sukoharjo with 30 respondents obtained a score of 85.83 with an adjective rating of 'Excellent.', this indicates that the Healthy Food game is deemed suitable for use.
