Abstract

Redesign of Gedung Pertemuan Daerah (GPD) Kota Salatiga is redesign of a public building and it will make some changes its physical form but it doesn’t change the function of the building. Public area are something that must be available in urban areas such as GPD Salatiga. However, the provision of facilities and infrastructure at GPD Salatiga hasn’t yet created a friendly building for all the type of people like childrens, adults, the elderly, and to persons with disabilities. With that in mind, this redesign activity aims to implement GPD Salatiga as a government-owned community center that can accommodate all user activities such as holding MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) activities by emphasizing the concept of universal design in design’s process ang guided by PERMEN PUPR No.30/PRT/M/2006 concering Technical Guidelines for Facilities and Accessibility in Buildings and the Environment.
