Abstract

The impact of the spread of the Covid 19 virus can generate speculation from various media, including local media for each region. Local media such as Solo Pos and Radar solo are media that provide more specific information about the conditions and situation in the city of Solo so that these two media are more helpful to the people of Solo in fulfilling their information needs regarding the situation in Solo and its surroundings related to the Covid-19 virus. The purpose of this study is to find out how the media reports about Covid 19 in the city of Solo on the online media local Solo Pos and Radar Solo. This research is a qualitative research using constructivism paradigm. The data from this study were obtained from news documents on news portals as well as references to relevant research books and journals. Using the theory of reality construction by Berger and Luckman and the theory of framing initiated by Robert E Entman, it was found that each media that was the subject of the research had their own point of view regarding the reporting of Covid-19 in the city of Solo. Solopos.com constructs reality highlighting the importance of health protocols, the role of the Health Service, and the impact on society, while radarsolo.jawapos.com tends to construct the reality of scarcity of vaccine stocks and increasing cases as an urgent health crisis.
