Abstract

Along with the times, in people's lives both men and women have the desire to look attractive. Nowadays, all kinds of beauty products with various brands and qualities are very easy to find in the market. To get more business profits, business people carry out fraudulent activities by selling fake skincare products that are not licensed by the POM. With the rampant circulation of beauty products without a distribution permit, provisions are needed to protect consumers if they suffer losses. This research was conducted using normative legal research methods and applying a qualitative descriptive research approach. The results of the author's research explain that consumers will be protected by Law Number 8 Year 1999 if consumers feel harmed by the beauty products used. According to the Islamic view, facial care products should have materials used in the production process must be halal and holy.
