Abstract
Education plays an important role in determining the fate of a nation, because education is a link related to increasing knowledge, Skills, and attitudes in human life. To achieve educational goals effectively and efficiently, everyone involved in education must understand and understand the behavior of each individual concerned. Moreover, in the era of globalization it also affects the character of teenagers, technological developments in the form of cellphones, TV and the internet make teenagers more easily influenced by things that bring damage to individual character. Efforts and strategies have been attempted by teachers, principals, students and even the government in achieving learning objectives, one of which is implementing reading literacy activities in schools. Many educational institutions have implemented the Literacy program, but each institution has a different way of implementing it, as well as SMK Negeri 6 Surakarta which has implemented the Literacy Movement through the Al-Qur'an Reading program before the start of the KBM (Teaching and Learning Activities) for 30 minutes every day. The purpose of this study was to determine the Implementation of the Al-Qur'an Literacy Program in the formation of the religious character of students at SMK Negeri 6 Surakarta. As well as supporting and inhibiting factors for the implementation of the Al-Qur'an literacy program in the formation of the religious character of students at SMK Negeri 6 Surakarta. The object of this research is teacher of Islamic religious education, with this type of qualitative research using a phenomenological research approach and using data collection method interviews, observation, documentation and data analysis. The results of the research were found in the application of the Al-Qur'an Literacy program in forming the religious character of two values, namely the value of worship and the value of exemplary. Internal supporting factors, namely the existence of student motivation in carrying out Al-Qur'an literacy activities. External supporting factors, namely the collaboration of teachers and student guardians in shaping the religious character of students, exchanging news via WA, the school environment, especially teachers and close friends. While the inhibiting factors include some of the students who still have bad habits, parenting and lack of attention from the family, as well as the school environment, especially friends who have bad behavior.
