Abstract

Crickets are one of the right choices to be cultivated because crickets contain a very high protein content. In Indonesia's tropical climate, this area is the most suitable for cricket cultivation, only because of the erratic seasonal changes, cultivation results do not run optimally, so an appropriate control system is needed. This research was conducted to overcome the problem of controlling temperature and humidity in cricket cages that are not regular experienced by cricket breeders. The control system that will be used is the ESP8266 microcontroller. This tool can be applied to problems in agriculture and animal husbandry to our appointed partners, namely how to make a cricket cage equipped with an IoT-based humidity control and temperature monitoring system with a smartphone application and using a web server so that can be controlled at a distance. This control is carried out by dht22 sensors and mist maker and heater ptc actuators which are operated by an internet network. The cage is also equipped with a remote monitoring facility by the owner of the cage with esp32cam . The test results show that the performance of the tools and systems is running well with the success of reducing the percentage of deaths from 12% to 6.4% as a result of temperature and humidity controls that are integrated with mobile phones. With the aim of making cricket cages with an IoT temperature and humidity control system so that the problems described in making cages with an IOT system based on the ESP8266 microcontroller and smartphone applications with web servers in cricket farming can be resolved properly so that breeding is better.
