Abstract

At this time, it can be seen that many people choose to keep pets, for example, cats. In caring for cats, you can pay attention to the care of the cats themselves, especially in managing the feeding patterns of cats which are sometimes late because they forget or are out of the house for quite a long time which can affect the health of the cats themselves. This research aims to create a control system for remote automatic cat feeding equipment using the Internet of Things (IoT) which functions to control and monitor cat feeding remotely which can be controlled easily using a smartphone so monitoring cat feeding can be done anytime and anywhere. In this research, the manufacture and design of a tool uses NodeMCU ESP8266 or a wifi module that functions as a remote control, ultrasonic sensors function as detectors if a cat approaches, load cell sensors to calculate the weight of cat feed that falls from the feed shelter, servo motors are used to open and close the door of the cat feed equipment, and LCD which functions to display the results of feeding cats. In conclusion, this tool is connected directly using a smartphone via the telegram application which will bring up direct notifications to cat owners remotely, making it easier for cat owners to provide a diet because they can monitor continuously.
