Abstract

PT. Multiyasa Abadi Sentosa is a company engaged in the exporter of handicrafts, while most of its products come from natural materials such as banana fiber, rattan and seagrass. In the production process, especially for basket products, various obstacles arise such as reject products requiring a longer processing time, causing the company to postpone the shipping date and causing waste on the production floor. The purpose of this research is to know the types of production activities, analyze waste in the production process and provide suggestions for improvement. The methods used are Value Stream Mapping, Waste Assessment Model and VALSAT. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the Current Value Stream Mapping value added activity value was 67.1%; Non-Value Added by 13%; and Necessary but Non Value Added by 19.9%; and Process Cycle Efficiency value of 67%. The results of the Seven Waste Relationship questionnaire show that the most dominant waste is waste from defects and waste to transportation. The result of the Waste Assessment Questionnaire was found to be the most dominant is defect. The proposed reduction of waste defects is QC for suppliers/raw materials by classifying the quality of raw materials before knitting into 3 types, namely Grade A, Grade B and Grade C to make it easier to sort and treat each grade differently. Meanwhile, the reduction of waste transportation is optimizing and maximizing the trolley in order to shorten the transfer process.
