Abstract
One Piece Animation Series is an adaptation of a famous Japanese comic created by famous Japanese comic artist, Eichiro Oda. One Piece was chosen as an object because it is an anime with best-selling comics and also often contains social issues that the audience is not aware of. Broadly speaking, this animated series tells the story of the journey of a future Pirate King to sail the ocean, But in the course of it there are some very interesting stories. This study examines some of the signs of violence against children contained in some scenes using Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis that explains signs through denotations, connotations and myths, in Japan educating children with violence may be considered a common thing but not so in other countries that may not justify the pretext of educating the child. This research is descriptive qualitative and uses a critical paradigm. The results showed that the One Piece Arc Wholecake Island Animated Series showed episodes 803-804 of several scenes that indicated physical, social and psychological violence against children. The culture of educating children with violence in society makes parents tend to do it to teach children and lead children to become what parents want, but what happens is just the opposite, it is often found that this method actually makes children more depressed and does not develop into their best potential.
