Abstract

Research into the creation of the universe continues to grow. Many theories have emerged about this, one of which is the big bang. The Quran discusses the process of the origin of the creation of the universe in Surah al-Anbiyā’ verse 30. In this case, researchers will compare two contemporary books of interpretation written by interpreters in Indonesia, namely Al-Misbah and tafsir ilmi Kemenag RI. This study seeks to answer how the comparison of the interpretation of Al-Anbiyā’ verse 30 about the process of the creation of the universe according to the interpretation of Al-Misbah and the tafsir ilmi Kemenag RI. This research uses a type of library research with a comparative analysis method. The results of this study indicate that these two interpretations have similarities, namely the universe, namely the sky and the earth originated from a single unit and then separated, supporting the bigbang theory and the element of life is water. However, these two interpretations also have differences that lie in the reference of interpretation, Al-Misbah refers to the interpretation of al-Muntakhab and Thabathaba'i, while the tafsir ilmi Kemenag RI refers to physical (scientific) theory. And also, in interpreting al-Anbiyā’ verse 30, Al-Misbah reviews from the angle of adabi ijtimal'i, language and scientific cues, while the scientific interpretation of the tafsir ilmi Kemenag RI focuses scientifically only related to the process of creation of the universe in al-Anbiyā’ verse 30.
