Abstract
High population growth in Pemalang District is a problem that is often faced in settlement development. The condition of very large population growth with inappropriate land use makes some residents use land for settlements that are not suitable or do not match the characteristics of the settlement land that has been established, this triggers uncontrolled land use changes. Mapping the suitability of residential land in Pemalang district, using the help of geographic information systems. This study aims to analyze the suitability class of residential land in the District of Pemalang, Pemalang Regency and to analyze the dominant factor is the most influential on the non-suitability of residential land in the District of Pemalang Pemalang Regency. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method, which describes the description of the object under study, equipped with field surveys used to validate the results of the classification of land suitability Pemalang District settlements. This study resulted in 4 classifications of land suitability classes in 2023, with the results of the study being 0.48% of land suitability classes are on very suitable land (S1), 43.82% of land suitability classes are on fairly suitable land (S2), 52.98% of land suitability classes are on marginal/medium suitable land (S3), and 2.72% of land suitability classes are on unsuitable land (N1). Factors that most affect the incompatibility of residential land Pemalang district is the slope of the slope with a very strong correlation and the coefficient of determination of 49% (dominate).
