Abstract

Recently, social media world reported a lot of debts and receivables case with unpleasant conotation, such as how difficult to collect debts, money is not returned, or the tragic one is the creditor is reported to autorities by the debtor. From those phenomenons, the researcher wants to watch the interpretation of Al Quran surah Al Baqarah (2): 282-283 that is about debt etics in Islam. Interpretation book Al-Munīr created by Wahbah Zuhaili become the researcher choice due to the magnificent method which integrate between bi al-ma‘ṡūr and bi al-ma‘qūl interpretation. Especially the expertise of the writer in fikih issues, bring the color of interpretation writting without tendency to a certain sect. This research is literature research which focus on the figure idea with interpretative approach. After passing the data analysis process, the conclution that can be drawn is there are several debt ethics in Islam which have explained by Allah in Q.S Al Baqarah (2): 282-283, they are: (1) Record the transaction, (2) The debtor is supposed to read the amount to the recorder without decreasing the amout owed, (4) Present the witness in the transaction, (4) The recorder or witness is not supposed to refuse if they requested, (5) It’s not supposed to harm each other, (6) It should take a stuff from the debt as warranty, and (7) Obey to Allah.
