Abstract

Women and men have different roles and views in society. Men have a social structure that they dominate more than women. Women are portrayed as weak creatures (Azizah, 2008). There are pros and cons of gender protection in the social environmentand discrimination against women. Like the film Moxie which tells the story of Vivian's character forming a feminism club anonymously called 'Moxie'. Vivian formed the club to help her friends, especially the female students at her school, get justice. So researchers want to see how feminism is contained in this film through theformulation of the problem: How Feminism in Moxie Films using Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis. This research uses a critical approach with qualitative research methods. Data collection techniques were obtained through documentation of Moxiefilms. The results of the study show the existence of radical feminism in the film Moxie which shows patriarchal ideology towards women. Women are used as sexualobjects, get sexual harassment and the dominance of men over women.
