Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the reasons students of the Accounting Education Study Program have consumptive online shopping behavior; (2) describe the factors that influence students of the Accounting Education Study Program Class of 2019 to have consumptive online shopping behavior and (3) describe ways to reduce the consumptive online shopping behavior of students of the Accounting Education Study Program Class of 2019. This type of research is qualitative research with a case study design. The subjects in this study were 4 students of the 2019 Accounting Education Study Program. The object of this study was online shopping consumptive behavior. Data collection techniques using in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used is an interactive data analysis technique according to Miles & Huberman. The results of the study show that (1) the reasons for online shopping consumptive behavior among students of the 2019 Accounting Education Study Program include: due to personal needs and the influence of college friends; (2) factors that influence online shopping consumptive behavior of students of the 2019 Accounting Education Study Program are influenced by: trend developments, lifestyle and discounts; (3) the way to reduce consumptive online shopping behavior among students of the 2019 Accounting Education Study Program is by having an inner intention to save money and prioritizing spending.
