Abstract

The private sector is a business sector that is based on individual choice in the market. The private sector is required to meet the tastes and preferences of each individual customer. The goal of the private sector is to seek customer satisfaction because the customer is king. The private sector is very influential for the Indonesian economy, because these individual businesses can open new jobs and can help the government in economic equality in Indonesia. Latu Agung Welding Workshop is one of the private sector industries engaged in welding or welding services for various types of metals such as stainless and iron. Occupational Health and Safety are factors in ensuring the condition of workers when carrying out the welding production process. Observations made show that many workers do not use complete PPE, thereby increasing the risk of work accidents because workers' knowledge regarding work safety is still lacking. Based on this problem, researchers used the HIRADC (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment Determining Control) method to carry out hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control. Based on the hazard identification found in the production process work in the welding workshop, 48 hazard potentials were obtained, with the most hazard potential being assembling (welding) work. The results of the risk assessment prior to control showed that there were 3 types of hazard with a large risk level (6.25%), a moderate risk level of 13 risks (27.08%), and a small risk level of 32 risks (66.7%). The risk controls that can be applied in this study are in accordance with the risk control hierarchy, namely design, administration, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
