Abstract
The need for electrical energy in the midst of society is very necessary and a basic need. In life can not be separated from the benefits of electrical energy for all aspects of activity. Utilization of renewable energy with seasonal conditions in Indonesia, rainfall is quite high during the rainy season. It can be utilized in the waters sector where water flowing in rivers drives turbines connected to DC generators to produce DC electricity. The generating system used is the Micro Hydro Power Plant (PLTMH). Using a screw turbine / Archimedes screw which is connected to a DC generator so that it can produce a DC power source. This will create an alternative energy that can be felt by the community. Not forever focus on fossil energy that can not be recycled to meet the needs of electrical energy. The method used in the research on the design of the PLTMH prototype system is a literature study, site observation, system design, testing and data collection. In data collection and observations made, in the flow of the river a mathematical calculation was carried out regarding the water discharge, the design of the screw turbine build with PVC paralon material and connected to a DC generator. In this study with the aim of knowing the electrical energy that can be generated by the generator. The electrical energy that can be generated during the test within 6 days is 19029.79 mWh. The lowest electrical energy was generated on day 2 with a value of 3064.9 mWh. For the highest electrical energy generated on day 1 of 3286.26 mWh.
