Abstract

This study aims to describe the pattern of teacher's instructional communication with class VI students from two elementary schools, namely elementary schools and public madrasah ibtidaiyah in Gemolong District. Using qualitative descriptive research focused on 5 effects of interpersonal communication, namely openness, empathy, supportiveness, positiveness and equality. The research techniques used are in-depth interview and observation techniques. The results of this study were teacher instructional communication patterns with students in class, varied widely and they attempted to change the mindset for a spirit of learning and better behavior. So that a conclusion was obtained that the instructional communication pattern of teachers with class VI students of elementary school and state madrasah ibtidaiyah was effective and utilized instructional communication methods.
