Abstract

The rapid development of technology at this time raises various kinds of problems. These problems have a negative impact on characteristics that affect one's individualistic performance, especially in the field of education. Especially in the scope of the school, the existence of a counseling program is very helpful, especially in anticipating and overcoming problems caused by students. The design of the problem formulation in this study is divided into two. First, to determine the effect of the implementation of the counseling program specifically on the characteristics of students at SMP Muhammadiyah 02 Kartasura. Second, to find out how the form of implementation of the guidance and counseling program at SMP Muhammadiyah 02 Kartasura. This study uses a mixed method (mix method) using a historical and psychological approach that refers to the form of phenomena or dimensions of a person's behavior. In this study, researchers used a sequential explanatory design. The research results obtained were from the results of a simple linear regression test through the SPSS application, the researcher concluded that the results of the probability significance value (Sig.) obtained were 0.00 <0.05, then Ho was rejected. So, the implementation of the Islamic guidance and counseling program affects the characteristics of students at SMP Muhammadiyah 02 Kartasura. As for the results of the data based on the findings of qualitative methods obtained through observation, documentation studies, and interviews. The results obtained are that the implementation of the Islamic guidance and counseling program at SMP Muhammadiyah 02 Kartasura is carried out through two implementations. First, through individual or group guidance with a counseling teacher. Second, through religious programs from the school such as; tadarrus Al-Qur'an, Memorizing Al-Qur'an, Dzuha prayer in congregation, midday prayer in congregation, and Kultum. From the results of the interview, the resource person explained that these programs had an influence on the characteristics of students at school.
