Abstract

Boyolali Regency is geographically located between two mountains namely Merapi and Merbabu resulting in the area in Boyolali being blessed with abundant water sources and natural wealth. The potential for this abundant water source makes Boyolali residents have a high interest in water sports or aquatic sports. Unfortunately, there are still not enough water sports facilities in Boyolali and most of them only focus on recreation and normal sports, not meeting championship standards. The purpose of designing an aquatic stadium in Boyolali by implementing this wide-span structure is to accommodate international standard aquatic sports competitions that have been regulated by FINA and the government. The size of the room and arena needed in this aquatic stadium makes the aquatic stadium building apply a wide span structure. This wide-span structure makes the building have a large room without a column structure in the middle of the room. The use of wide-span structures combined with architectural beauty will create an aesthetic form of building facades. With the existence of an aquatic stadium in Boyolali, it is hoped that it will become a new landmark in Boyalali and make Boyolali Regency a center for aquatic sports competitions in Indonesia in particular and the world in general.
