Abstract

Machine efficiency is important for reducing highly complex production problems and analyzing production processes systematically for all possible problems affecting machine availability. In addition to machine efficiency, companies must be able to increase their productivity in order to be successful in business processes and remain competitive. PT. Djohartex is a manufacturing industry company in the textile sector that produces gray cloth products. However, there are problems with the rapier machine, namely the low efficiency value of the rapier machine due to lack of maintenance and identification of losses incurred due to machine damage. Therefore the required method is to use the OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) method to comply with the standard OEE value set at ≥84.66% and Six Big Losses to find out which losses are the dominant cause of low machine effectiveness and improvements are made through the application of TPM ( Total Productive Maintenance). The purpose of this study was to determine the level of effectiveness using the OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) method on rapier machines so that productivity increases and to find out what are the losses that result in decreased rapier machine performance using the Six Big Losses method so that corrective steps can be taken through analysis of TPM implementation (Total Productive Maintenance). The OEE value obtained from January - December 2022 is 52%, and it can be seen that the dominant six big losses factor is the cause of the low effectiveness value, namely reduced speed losses of 22% and improvements are needed through the application of TPM.
