Abstract
Problems regarding halal product certification are due to long procedures and also the costs registered are not small, therefore the government is trying to shortcut or make it easier for micro and small industries to carry out halal logo certification with the Self Declaration program (self declare).The purpose of the research is to know and understand the form of consumer protection guarantees from applicable laws and government regulations and to know the regulation of halal logo certification from the self declare scheme for MSMEs. The type of research is normative law with literature research, collecting secondary data with literature studies and document studies, and data analysis methods using qualitative methods. The findings of this study indicate that the implementation of Law No.33 of 2014 provides a guarantee of consumer protection with halal products formed by the BPJPH agency then in Law No.11 of 2020 provides many conveniences for actors. The self-declare category includes a number of specific criteria, including that the products are simple and not risky and the production process uses materials that meet the ingredients that can be ensured of their halalness. And from this policy provides benefits both in terms of business actors and consumers themselves.
