Abstract

Programming algorithms are one of the materials in the compulsory subject of Informatics for class X in high school. Algorithm material is important for students to learn to help develop reasoning power or a systematic frame of mind. In learning algorithms, it is necessary to have learning media that can make it easier for students to understand the concept of algorithms because of the difficulties in learning algorithms, namely the difficulty of understanding and imagining how a problem is solved in a structured way. Therefore we need learning media that can display 3D objects, one of which is the use of augmented reality technology. Because augmented reality can combine elements of simulation in a virtual environment by utilizing the manipulation of physical objects. Using augmented reality is expected to help students get to know the concept of programming algorithms easily. The method used in this study is the Research and Development (R&D) method and the development model used in this study, namely the Luther version of the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) developed by Sutopo which has 5 stages namely, concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, literature studies, and questionnaires. The results of the research by media experts are 94.4% which is in the very feasible category and material experts are 95% which is in the very feasible category. Then this learning media was tested on 38 class X students of SMA Al – Islam 1 Surakarta by filling out a participant questionnaire. The data is then analyzed using SUS with an average result of 71.31 in the acceptable category. Based on the results of these test it can be concluded that the product developed is classified as feasible to be used as a learning media to introduce algorithm concepts.
