Abstract

Karawang Cultural Village is a tourist area located among the surrounding industrial areas, Karawang Cultural Village was established to accommodate art activists in Karawang, besides that as a form of local government efforts to preserve Sundanese culture from the rapid development of the city, the development of the city sacrifices existing rice fields. Over time, the condition of Karawang Cultural Village is alarming due to the lack of good management, so there is a need for revitalization efforts. This planning aims to determine the right program of activities and containers and revitalize Karawang Cultural Village with an eco-culture approach as a form of effort to balance between culture, the surrounding environment and urban development. The method used is data collection in the form of observation, literature study, comparative study then analyzed and formed a concept. The results of the design refer to the principle of eco-culture emphasis including the circulation flow applied, which is linear with a mass layout pattern following Sundanese traditional philosophy. For circulation using a one gate system. The shape of the building display uses the roofs that exist in Sundanese traditional houses along with the style of the langgam. Equipped with tourism support facilities such as green spaces and artificial lakes. All of these prioritize local wisdom in terms of materials, structure and mass layout, building form and environmental conditions.
