Abstract

Indonesian forests are home to various kinds of animals, ranging from livestock, pets and wild animals. Endemic animals in Indonesia are threatened by increasing poaching, illegal trade and habitat destruction. In addition, there is still very little media information about endemic animals, as well as a lack of informative and persuasive information media. This study aims to develop learning media in introducing Indonesian endemic animals to elementary school students. In this learning media using Augmented Reality technology to display 3D animal objects on the smartphone screen when scanning markers. The development of Kenali Aku learning media uses 2 software, namely Unity 3D to create Augmented Reality programs, Blender to create 3D animal objects. The research method used in this study is Research and Development (R&D) with the Luther development model. This Know Me learning media has been tested on experts and users. (1) Testing on two media experts with a percentage of 82.1% which states that this media is very feasible. (2) The material test for two grade 2 teachers at Muhammadiyah 2 Kauman Surakarta Elementary School with a percentage of 93.1% was declared very feasible. (3) The user test was conducted on 20 grade 2 students at SD Muhammadiyah 2 Kauman Surakarta with a percentage of 85.1% so that it was declared very feasible. Based on these various tests, it can be concluded that the Kenali Aku learning media that has been developed by researchers is categorized as feasible to be implemented in the field.
