Abstract

The Quizlet application is an android application-based learning media that can be used for students, namely its use by teachers who are given material in the form of questions related to learning and a grid of exam questions that will be faced by class XI IPS students at SMA Negeri 1 Andong. This study aims to determine the increase in student learning outcomes in economics subjects. This type of research is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental approach, with the population of this study being students of class XI IPS at SMA Negeri 1 Andong for the 2022/2023 academic year, totaling 144 students. The sample in this study was class XI IPS 1 and 2, totaling 72. The data for this quasi-experimental study were analyzed using descriptive analysis and the t-test method. Smartphone-based Quizlet media has interesting features that can be used as an alternative to choosing innovative and communicative media to improve learning outcomes. Furthermore, the research design applied in this study was a nonequivalent control group design. It can be concluded that, the learning outcomes in the experimental class at the time before and after learning using Quizlet media showed significant differences in learning outcomes with a significance of 0.000 < 0.05. In other words, the use of Quizlet learning media is effective in improving student learning outcomes. Conversely, in the control class, the significance value is 0.164 > 0.05, this means that conventional learning media is not effective in improving student learning outcomes.
