Abstract

Radio broadcasters and radio practitioners are facing an increase in conventional media broadcasting efforts at local, regional, national, and now global levels as a result of the internet's new streaming media and podcast technologies. The convergence of mass media communication stems from the technological developments of this time, to a great impact on the global development of mass media communication. The theory used is STPFP theory (Segmentation, Targeting, Positioning and programming). This research is a type of descriptive qualitative research that uses the case study method. The purpose of this research is to find out how programming management in alternative radio. This research uses descriptive data analysis that describes the facts of the object of research. Analyzing using data collected through a direct observation process by conducting interviews with several sources and documentation of activities at Radik FM. This research shows that the STPFP theory through its management can describe how Radik FM can survive as a community radio in Soloraya. Segmentation and Targeting in determining the number of listeners, Positioning in maintaining radio identity, Formatting the latest broadcast programs, Programming on-air and off-air activities and managing human resources. Utilizing social media in the midst of media convergence. Although Radik FM does not conduct ratings, they are able to attract listeners to listen to the programs that have been broadcast.
