Abstract

Background: School-age children are children aged 6-12 years, at this time children are in the stage of the learning process inside and outside of school. In the development of school-age children, religious education is very important for their spiritual development. Through worship activities children will learn to develop their spiritual intelligence to the fullest so that they can understand Allah SWT as the creator. One of the routine worship activities that is carried out every day is prayer, reading the Koran and reading daily prayers. Purpose: Knowing the description of the daily worship activities of elementary school age children through the daily worship activities of children in Polokarto District. Method: This study uses a quantitative method with a descriptive approach. In this study, samples were taken as many as 69 respondents of elementary school age children in Polokarto District using the technique cluster random sampling. Data analysis used univariate analysis while data collection used a spiritual questionnaire consisting of 24 statements. Results: Spiritual development of children in the good category with a percentage of 63.8% while 25 respondents had bad spiritual behavior with a percentage of 36.2%. Conclusion: In this study, it was found that elementary school-age children in Polokarto District had good spiritual development with the characteristics of the most respondents being male aged 12 years.
