Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve students' ability to speak Javanese krama through the Gandhelis method in grade V students of SD Negeri Bulu 01, Polokarto District, Sukoharo Regency for the 2022/2023 Academic Year. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research. The subject of this study is a grade V student of SD Negeri Bulu 01 for the 2022/2023 academic year, with the object of research in the form of improving Javanese speaking skills. The study consisted of two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, carrying out actions, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, tests, and documentation of learning activities. The data analysis used in this study is an interactive analysis model consisting of three activity models, namely data reduction, data display, and conclusion/verification. The results of the research that has been carried out can be concluded that the application of the gandhelis method can improve Javanese krama language skills in grade V students of SD Negeri Bulu 01, Sukoharjo District, Sukoharjo Regency for the 2022/2023 Academic Year. Increased student learning activity can be seen since the implementation of cycle I and cycle II. In pre-cycle conditions, the average number of students who understood Javanese krama was 55.55%, the application of cycle I increased at an average score of 66.66%, and cycle II increased again to 81.47%. So that action research stops in cycle II because in cycle II the increase in achievement of indicators has reached ≥70%.
