Abstract
Basically coding for kids is about equipping students with structured and logical thinking. Honing students' abilities and skills in equipping learning coding is one of the soft skills that students need in the future. From the results of observations at SMP Negeri 2 Sidoharjo by taking 2 class VII as the sample. The purpose of this research is to compare the scores (learning outcomes) of two different class groups and determine the effectiveness of using Code.org as a medium for learning coding. In this study using the Quasi Experimental Design approach (Quasi/Pseudo Experimental Design). The research design used was the Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. From this study, the results show that in coding or informatics subjects using code.org as a medium for introducing coding has an influence on seventh grade students of junior high school. Because there are differences in values (student learning outcomes) in coding or informatics subjects between the experimental class group and the control class group. Judging from the difference in the results of the pretest and posttest mean scores because the experimental class was given treatment or (treatment) using code.org the results were higher than the lower control class.
