Abstract

The change of paddy fields into housing in Sukoharjo District is growing and continues to grow. The impact that occurs as a result of land changes is that the area of paddy fields becomes narrower. This study aims to 1. Determine the distribution of use of paddy fields into residential land in Sukoharjo District in 2017 – 2022 2. Analyze the causes or factors that influence the pattern of change from the conversion of paddy fields to residential land in Sukoharjo District 2017 – 2022. There are two methods used, namely the purposive sampling method and the survey method, with the purposive sampling method to find out land changes and followed by the survey method to obtain more detailed results by conducting interview. For data analysis using descriptive quantitative methods by utilizing sentinel imagery 2-A in 2018 – 2022. Direct research in the field will get results from the causes or factors that influence change patterns from land function experts. These factors include rapid population growth, increased community demand for housing, high costs of managing agriculture, lack of interest from the younger generation to manage agricultural land, shifts to sectors that are considered more promising and selling points. The area in Sukoharjo District is 2,717.68 ha, with a land use area of 46,79 ha in 2017 and a land use area of 46,98 ha in 2022.
