Abstract

The population continues to grow and the development of population activities makes the need for space increase. This triggers land changes. Land change not only has a positive impact, but also has a negative impact if the amount of growth in built-up land is uncontrolled. Therefore, it is necessary to have monitoring activities for changes in built-up land on a regular basis. One way to monitor changes in built-up land is by checking the suitability of built-up land against the Regional Spatial Planning document. This study aims to identify the development of built-up land in Sukoharjo Regency in 2013, 2022 and 2031. As well as to analyze the suitability of built-up land in 2031 with the 2011-2031 Sukoharjo Regency Spatial Planning. The methods used are supervised classification, overlay, and the MOLUSCE processing method. The results show that the development of built-up land during 2013, 2022 and 2031 occurs in all areas of Sukoharjo Regency unevenly with different intensity of change. This was caused by internal and external factors in the research area. The results of the suitability of built land against the 2011-2031 RTRW of Sukoharjo Regency showed quite high results with a suitability percentage of 81.22% and a land unsuitability percentage of 18.78%.
