Abstract
The existence of the Karawang Regency industrial area is one of the investment development strategies with a total of 698 industries according to data from the Karawang Office of Industry and Trade. The positive impact for Karawang Regency itself is that the workforce is fulfilled and is able to establish good cooperation between local residents. The negative impact, especially for Karawang Regency, is in the field of education with a high urbanization spike, so the number of students is not evenly distributed so that educational facilities are needed. There are 50 high school facilities, namely 30 public high schools and 20 private high schools with a total number of high school students in Karawang Regency 29,525 students, 25,934 public high school students and 3,591 private high school students from BPS Karawang Regency 2022. The aims of this research are 1) to analyze the pattern of distribution of high school locations in Karawang Regency and 2) analyze the affordability of high school locations in Karawang Regency. This study uses secondary data analysis methods (BPS Karawang Regency in 2022 and Landsat 8 OLI imagery in 2019) with data processing techniques using overlays, data analysis methods using Average Nearest Neighbor (ANN) and affordability analysis. The results of this study are based on the processing of the nearest neighbor analysis (Average Nearest Neighbor) resulting in a pattern of distribution of SMA in Karawang Regency in the form of clusters. Cilamaya Kulon and Cilebar sub-districts do not have high school educational facilities, this is because accessibility to these areas is very difficult and public transportation is only available at certain times. Educational facilities are most widely spread in West Karawang and East Karawang Districts, this is due to the large number of settlements in these areas. High school education facilities in Karawang Regency need to be increased in number and must be located close to settlements, so that they can reach the surrounding settlements. The results of this study can be used as a reference for stakeholders who wish to build educational facilities at the senior high school level.
