Abstract

This study aims to test. (1) To describe how the pattern of life of boarding children in Gonilan Village is. (2) To describe how the relationship between boarding children and boarding house owners in Gonilan Village. (3) To describe the use of time and money for boarding children in Gonilan Village. The research method uses a qualitative research design with ethnography. The place of this research was carried out in the Gonilan Village area. The selection of this research location is based on the consideration that there are many free boarding houses in the Gonilan Village area. Data collection techniques by observation, interviews, and documentation. This study uses non-statistical qualitative data analysis techniques through triangulation and is carried out continuously in order to achieve completeness of data that supports research so that the data obtained will be more varied. The results of the discussion analysis concluded that: (1) The pattern of life of boarding children in Gonilan Village is carried out by students' daily behavior whose activities are positive such as studying, reading, and so on when in their boarding room. So basically not only activities in the boarding house are positive, many negative activities are carried out by students when they are in their boarding house. (2) The relationship between boarding children and boarding house owners in Gonilan Village with the application of a level of discipline that must be followed and obeyed by boarding house users. (3) The use of boarding children's money in Gonilan Village, Students in implementing a frugal lifestyle, do not directly spend pocket money from their parents but are set aside for savings, buy goods according to what is needed and useful, not just following their desires, buying goods is not affected by friends
