Abstract
In lectures, students often experience pressure in facing exams and assignments they have during lectures, this pressure is often called academic stress. Academic stress can be caused by a variety of stressors, namely the inability to manage emotions and difficulties in interpersonal communication. This study aims to determine the Relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Interpersonal Communication with Academic Stress of Students of the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta. The approach in this study uses correlational quantitative methods with simple regression analysis techniques. The population in this study amounted to ±1279 and the sample amounted to1.03 students from the class of 2018.2019, 2020 and 2021 Faculty of Psychology at the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta. Sampling using purposive random sampling method and data collection using Emotional Intelligence scale, Interpesonal Communication Scale and Academic Stress Scale with Likert scale model. The results of the simultaneous hypothesis test of the variables of Emotional Intelligence and Interpersonal Communication on the variables of Academic Stress obtained an F value of 26.579 with a sig of 0.000 (p < 0.05) and the results of Rsquare showed positive results of 0.347 then the variables of Emotional Intelligence and Interpersonal Communication, together and simultaneously had a significant relationship with the variable of Academic Stress in students of the faculty of psychology at the University Muhammadiyah Surakarta.
