Abstract

The purpose to be achieved in this discussion is to find out how the sanctions and prohibitions of money politics in Indonesian legislation, especially in Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections. This research uses empirical juridical methodology or field research. The data used are primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials with literature study data collection techniques and interview techniques. The results of this study will show that the practice of money politics is very common in Indonesia, especially in Boyolali Regency, in this case it is necessary to have strict rules regarding sanctions and prohibitions for perpetrators of money politics in Indonesia, because the practice of money politics is considered a natural thing for the community, because with this money politics it is hoped that election participants will get a lot of vote support from the community, so Bawaslu and KPU have an important role in preventing the practice of money politics because according to their functions, namely prevention and supervision. So that the articles in Law Number 7 Year 2017 can be applied properly. In Islamic law views money politics as a bribe so that the perpetrators of money politics can be punished by the laws in force in Indonesia.
