Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of financial rewards, labor market considerations, social values, and the work environment on students' interest in choosing a career as a public accountant. The population used in this study were all Accounting Students at Muhammadiyah University Surakarta Class of 2017. The number of samples used was 55 students using the Probablity Sampling method. The data analysis technique in this study used multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study are 1) Financial rewards have no significant effect on students' interest in choosing a career as a public accountant; 2) Labor market considerations have a significant positive effect on students' interest in choosing a career as a public accountant; 3) Social values have no significant effect on students' interest in choosing a career as a public accountant; 4) The work environment has no significant effect on students' interest in choosing a career as a public accountant.
