Abstract
Background: The increasing number of elderly (elderly) certainly causes problems that can affect their quality of life. Quality of life in the elderly is influenced by several factors, one of which is psychological health, namely self-compassion. Purpose: This study aims to find out whether there is a relationship between self-compassion and quality of life in the elderly. Method: This study used a correlative descriptive method with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique in this study used a total sampling with a population of 30 elderly people at the Aisyiyah Sumber Solo Nursing Home. Data collection using SCS and WHOQOL-BFEF questionnaires. The data analysis used is Chi-Square with p<0.05. Research Results: A significance value of 0.000 (p = 0.000 < 0.05) was obtained, which means that H0 was rejected. Conclusion: So there is a relationship between self-compassion and the quality of life in the elderly at the Aisyiyah Sumber Solo Nursing Home. Keywords : Elderly, Self-Compassion, Quality of Life
