Abstract
Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction is one of the most common procedures in sports medicine. Several areas of controversy exist in the management of ACL tears that have engaged surgeons and investigators in debate to identify the ideal approach for these patients. Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction is one of the most common orthopedic techniques performed worldwide. The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the effectiveness of closed kinetic chain exercise to increase functional activity in post ACL reconstruction. The method used by narrative review researchers. Narrative review is a cornerstone in medical literature research, having methodological rigor, with the aim of summarizing previous literature. The results of the study of 6 articles explained that 1 article discussed improving muscle balance and the other 5 articles only discussed the effectiveness of the CKC and OCK programs. Researchers consider that the Closed Kinetic Chain (CKC) movement technique is a movement exercise in accordance with the anatomy of the knee joint, namely flexion and movement aimed at daily activities (Activity Daily Living or ADL) such as squatting to standing and toileting. Open kinetic chain exercise is very useful for training the lower leg muscles, especially to increase functional activity.
