Abstract

This research is motivated by how important it is to instill religious character in students, because seeing the influence of globalization requires people to realize that generations of the nation are in danger of being carried away by cultural currents that are incompatible with the nation's identity and can erode the value of students' religious character. Students can access any content in a wide environment freely without any control from anywhere. It is necessary to have the role of schools as educational institutions to instill religious character values in students, so as to be able to solve the problem of moral degradation that exists through programs or plans that are drawn up. In this study, the discussion was related to the program of plantingthe value of students' religious character and supporting and inhibiting factors at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura. This research is a field research using a qualitative phenomenological approach. Data sources come from principals and teachers of PAI subjects, as well as additional data from journals and documents. Data collection was carried out using interviews, observations, and study of analyzed documents through data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The process of checking data through triangulation techniques, and sources. The results showed that the efforts of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura in instilling religious character values are contained in several school programs, including: 1) Dhuha Prayer Program, 2) Muroja'ah Al-Qur'an Juz 30 Program, 3) Asmaul Husna Memorization Program, 4) Dzuhur and Ashar Congregational Prayer Program, 4) Qur'an Literacy Program (BTA). In the program of planting religious character values at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura, there are two factors that affect the success in the process of planting these values, namely supporting and inhibiting factors. 1) Inhibiting factors include, excessive use of gadgets, inattention of parents at home, social environment. The supporting factor in the program of planting religious character values at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura is inseparable because of the efforts of all teachers in the school who are willing to work together in realizing the vision of the school who want to create graduates with an Islamic spirit and noble character.
