Abstract

Based on the suitability of land as a residential area, land habitability is determined based on the physical parameters of each land unit. Problems in the Gembong area are landslides during the rainy season, the level of rock weathering, slope and the depth of the groundwater table. The purpose of this research is to find out how the level of land suitability of Gembong Sub-district for settlements and to find out the dominant factors that hinder it. In this research, the method used in the research is field survey method and for sampling is done by Cluster random sampling method based on land unit. There are 15 land units in the research area, namely D1IIGKT, D1IIILT, D1IILK, D1IILP, D1IILSw, D1ILSw, D1ILT, V2IIGKH, V2IIGKK, V2IIIACH, V2IIIGKH, V2IILK, V2IILP, V2IVACH, and V2IVGKH. Gembong sub-district of Pati Regency has four land suitability classes, namely S1 (highly suitable) in land units D1ISw and D1ILT with an area of 2722.69 ha. Land suitability class S2 (suitable) in land units D1IILP and D1IISw with an area of 824.94 ha. Land units D1IIGKT, D1IIILT, D1IILK, V2IIGKH, V2IIGKK, V2IIIACH, V2IIIGKH, V2IILK, and V2IILP have land suitability class S3 (moderate), with an area of 2553.91 hectares with the risk of landslide hazard, slope, ease of getting water, and the level of rock weathering. Land units V2IVACH and V2IVGKH have land suitability class N1 (unsuitable) with an area of 831.54 hectares.
