Abstract

Didin Hafidhuddin, a contemporary scholar who is an expert in the field of zakat, has thoughts about Zakat paid on professional income referred to as "professional zakat" (professional results). Also known as zakat ratab al-muwazhaffin (zakat on employee wages) and zakat kasb al-'amal wa al-mihan al-hurrah (zakat on personal and professional work), zakat ratab almuwazhaffin is the most common term. Zakat on income (money) that fulfills the nishab is called "professional zakat," and is imposed on certain jobs or skills, whether done individually or in collaboration with others. To give just a few examples, consider the careers of doctors, consultants, lawyers, professors, and others. BAZNAS as an amil zakat body at the national level becomes the body that educates and manages community professional zakat at the national level and becomes a reference for the development of professional zakat in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to determine the conception of professional zakat according to Didin Hafidhuddin, the implementation of the process and management of professional zakat at BAZNAS. The method used in this research is qualitative research using library data. This study uses a descriptive analysis method, all research will be described and presented in the form of research reports. From this study it can be concluded that the potential of zakat has not been explored properly and expertly. The lack of human resources in special amil zakat institutions and the low awareness of fulfilling zakat obligations are the two causes of this. Its relevance to Didin Hafidhuddin's proposal to revive the administration of zakat is very appropriate considering the organization of amil zakat institutions and efforts to increase the welfare of the people. This research can be used for universities, lecturers, and students, especially for article writers and the general public who concentrate on professional zakat.
