Abstract

The background of this research is that construction workers or laborers, especially brick-making experts in Wonogiri district, always complain that their work earns wages that are relatively small or below the Wonogiri District/City Minimum Wage. In this study focusing on the provision of wages that should be in accordance with applicable regulations as a reward for their work, these wages are used as the basis for worker welfare. Apart from that, this research also discussed the settlement for both parties between construction workers/laborers and business owners. Therefore the purpose of this study was made to find out whether the payment of wages was in accordance with the regulations in force from the government, and to find out the settlement of disputes between workers or construction workers with their work business owners. The research method used is an empirical juridical research method. The type of research used is descriptive legal research. From the results of research on all workers and wages from the settlement and also the implementation of the Central Java Governor Decree Number 561/39 of 2021 concerning Minimum Wage at 35 (Thirty Five) Districts/Cities of Central Java Province in 2022 along with efforts to resolve wage disputes between workers/ construction workers with employers. The conclusion of this study is that the wages that occur are not appropriate and do not meet the provisions of the policies that have been regulated in the provision of wages, one of which must be in accordance with the minimum wage which takes into account considerations and also ways to resolve disputes through bipartite negotiations, mediation, and industrial relations courts.
