Abstract
Family communication is communication that occurs within a family. Each family has its own communication pattern. Relations between half-siblings show a wide variety. This study aims to describe the pattern of family communication between half siblings. The research method used in this research is qualitative research using a descriptive approach. Data collection was carried out through interviews with six people who live in Surakarta. Respondents in this study were men and women aged 17 to 24 years. Sampling was done by purposive sampling method. The data collection technique used is through in-depth interviews. Based on the results of this study, each family has different family communication patterns. Three of the six informants had a consensual family communication pattern in which communication with their half-siblings went well. Meanwhile, two other informants had a pluralistic family communication pattern. And one informant with a laissez-faire family communication pattern.
