Abstract

Background : One of the advanced symptoms of COVID-19 is hypoxia, which is a condition where there is a decrease in oxygen saturation leading to organ system failure. Patients with COVID-19 with hypoxic complications need supportive and rehabilitative efforts to reduce the risk of mortality, including by holding the prone position (PP). Purpose : to determine the effectiveness of the prone position in increasing oxygen saturation in COVID-19 patients with hypoxia based on several journals. Methods: the type of research used is Literature review with literature through Google Scholar, Sciendirect, PubMed, as well as searches in the last 5 years with the keywords “Prone Position”, “COVID-19”, “Saturation” dan “Hypoxia”. The database and keyword search strategy used the PICO method and was selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: Based on the results of the analysi, it was explained that PP has the ability to increase oxygen saturation in patients with hypoxic conditions due to COVID-19. Conclusion: PP has the ability to increase oxygenation to be supportive therapy collaboration with standard care. Keywords: COVID-19, Hypoxia, Prone Position, Oxigen Saturation
