Abstract
Hydraulic system is a form of energy conversion that converts mechanical energy into fluid energy and then converts it into mechanical energy. The purpose of this analysis is to find out the working mechanism of the excavator hydraulic system, to find out the damage that occurs to the excavator hydraulic system and the steps to repair it. Working mechanism of the Komatsu PC200-8 excavator hydraulic system is that mechanical energy from engine motion is converted into hydraulic energy using a hydraulic pump that sucks oil from the tank. Main pressure is flowed and stand by in the control valve. The main pressure is also channeled to the self-reducing valve to change the main pressure to pilot pressure and then forwarded to the solenoid valve and PPC valve. The pilot pressure from the PPC valve activates the spool valve in the control valve and will continue the main pressure that is stand by in the control valve to the actuator. In the Komatsu PC200-8 excavator hydraulic system, there are sensors, namely PPC oil sensor, oil pressure sensor R pump, and oil pressure sensor F pump. These sensors will send signals to the pump controller. Then the pump controller changes the current signal and is forwarded to the solenoid valve and EPC valve to regulate hydraulic performance with the aim of adjusting working conditions when the unit is operating so that the hydraulic system performance is more proportional. Komatsu PC200-8 excavator unit is damaged, namely hydraulic low speed. The results of the inspection for damage to the Komatsu PC200-8 hydraulic system were the PC EPC solenoid, spring and spool on the self reducing valve. The damage causes a lack of pressure on the pilot valve so that the hydraulic system experiences low speed. Then it must be replaced with new components to return the unit to prime condition.
