Abstract

Health and safety problems of employees that may contribute to the possibility of workplace accidents is employee fatigue. Work-related fatigue can occur in some workers and increases the risk of work accidents. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between perceptions of work shifts and burnout levels in terms of gender. This quantitative study used all members of the population at the Tanjungbatu Regional General Hospital, Riau Archipelago Province, as many as 50 active health worker subjects. The research instrument uses a perception scale on work shifts, and the level of burnout is in the form of a questionnaire. The analysis technique of this research used pearson analysis and independent sample t test. Based on the results of the major hypothesis test of the research that has been carried out in the form of a determination coefficient of -0.506 and a significance of 0.000, it can be concluded that there is a significant negative relationship between perceptions of work shifts and the burnout rate of health workers at Tanjungbatu Regional General Hospital, Riau Archipelago Province. The results of the first minor hypothesis study were rejected, showing that gender had no effect on the perception variable on shift work (X1) with a t result of 0.390 and a significance of 0.057 (p>0.05) indicating that gender had no significant effect on burnout levels. While the second minor hypothesis is rejected that gender does not have a significant effect on the burnout level variable (Y). This is indicated by t = 1.591, a significance value of p = 0.981 (p> 0.05) indicating that there is no difference in the burnout level of health workers in terms of gender.
