Abstract
Regular physical activity can improve motor skills such as balance. It is impossible to separate environmental factors and regulatory systems from the body's capacity to maintain balance and postural stability through motor activity. The development of balance can be hampered by a lack of physical activity which poses a risk of injury to school-age children, such as the risk of falling. The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between physical activity and static balance in MINKA Blulukan elementary school children. This research is quantitative and analytic descriptive type. Total sampling is the sampling method of this study so that 78 students are obtained. The Children's Physical Activity Questionnaire (PAQ-C) is used to calculate the amount of physical activity and the dependent variable, namely static balance with eyes open and eyes closed using the Stork Stand Balance Test. Spearman Rank Rho correlation test was used in data analysis. The results showed that static balance with open eyes and physical activity had a relationship with a p value of 0.002 and a correlation coefficient of 0.344 equivalent to 34.4% and with closed eyes static balance with a p value of 0.024 and a correlation coefficient of 0.255 equivalent to 25.5%. Based on the research findings, MINKA Blulukan Elementary School students have a fairly good relationship between static balance and physical activity.
