Abstract
The tourism sector is a sector that can be developed because it has the potential to participate in economic development in the region. Each region has different characteristics of natural resources, one of which is the karst area. The karst area is unique and can only be found in certain places to affect a region’s economic growth. This study aims to analyze the effect of karst tourism on the economic growth of the Kapanewon Wonosari area, analyze the influence of karst tourism on the people of the Kapanewon Wonosari area, and analyze the factors that influence tourism development in Kapanewon Wonosari. The sample of this research was obtained from tourist attraction managers, tourist attraction workers, traders at tourist attractions, and government stakeholders in Kapanewon Wonosari. The data used comes from tourism income data, community income data, and regional original income data for tourist objects in the area. The method used in this study was interview and field observation with the purposive sampling method. In addition, to processing research data using a simple linear regression test method with descriptive and spatial analysis. The result for 2020-2022 show that tourism income has only a 23% effect on regional economic growth. The Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in a decrease in the number of tourists and has an impact on people's low income levels. In addition, many allocations of funds were used to improve the condition of tourist attractions after the Covid-19 pandemic. The level of influence of tourism income in karst areas on people's income is also low, only an effect of 5.3%. But before the pandemic occurred, tourism revenue in the karst region to people’s income was very influential in helping daily life. The development of tourist objects in Kapanewon Wonosari is influenced by 4 factors are the quality of human resources, natural resources factors, socio-cultural factors, and economic conditions.
