Abstract

Toddler is one of the stages of child development when the child is 12 to 36 months old. Social personal development is an aspect that supports children in independence, socializing, and interacting with their environment. In order for personal-social development to develop optimally, parents need to know the right anticipatory guidance in order to know the guidelines in providing stimulation to their children so that the child's development runs normally. This study aims to determine the relationship between anticipatory guidance and social personal toddlers in Pucangan village, Sukoharjo. This research is a quantitative research with a correlational descriptive design and a cross sectional study approach. This study used a sample of 82 mothers who had toddlers at six different posyandu in Pucangan village, Sukoharjo. This study applied the Multistage random sampling technique through simple random sampling and cluster random sampling which was carried out in December 2022 using a questionnaire instrument and the DDST II form. The data analysis technique in this study used the Spearman-rho coefficient correlation test. The results of the study showed that the majority of mothers provided anticipatory guidance in the sufficient category with a total of 45 (54.9%) respondents and toddlers with normal social personalities of 67 (81.7%) and suspects of 15 (18.3%). The results of the analysis test showed that the p-value was p = 0.178 (> 0.05), so based on the test results it could be concluded that there was no relationship between anticipatory guidance and social personal in toddlers in Pucangan village, Sukoharjo.
